It’s A Tie!

The continuing clash for supremacy between the two of the world’s largest and most renowned auto manufacturers, Toyota and GM, has come to a deadlock. Fasten your seatbelts as we get down to the real score!

According to TheAutoChannel.com, the AIADA bulletin accounted that General Motors Corporation’s 76-year of dominance as the world’s largest and number one auto manufacturer has come to an end as Toyota Motor Corp. rushed through the competition and was tied with GM for the first time in 2007.

In 2007, GM announced that it sold 9,369,524 million vehicles worldwide. On the other hand, Toyota confirmed last week that the company sold over 9.37 million vehicles in 2007. Toyota also assured that there are other exact figures that will be released and available at the end of the month.

The tie emphasizes the deviating tracks both GM and Toyota are on at present according to the Wall Street Journal. For the Japanese nameplate, their vision is to continue the company’s expansion worldwide especially in the U.S. while GM's home turf sales and market share decreases.
